The next 2 days in Sydney were awful. It was cold and rainy. Not happy. The worst thing was on Monday we went to the Blue Mountains which is supposed to be spectacular. Not when it's raining. It was just so disappointing, being there but not being able to see the amazing views. The worst part was when our guide made us watch a 12 minute video of what it should look like on a clear sunny day. Well that didn't help, we all emerged from the cinema room feeling even more depressed!! Anyway, tried to make the most of it. Got the steepest train in the world down to the rainforest floor, then had about 5 minutes to wonder around in the rain before walking the 45 minute climb back up to the car. So Sydney was a bit of a washout in the end, and couldn't wait to get to Melbourne where the weather report is excellent. On Tuesday we arrived in Melbourne and the weather was amazing. We hired ourselves a Backpacker Campervan and began to drive down the Great Ocean Road. It is absolutely stunning!! Having the best time, seeing lots of other travellers on the way, stopping off and relaxing on beaches all day!! I will put up some photos as soon as possible.
Back to Sydney on the night bus tomorrow hoping to get to Mardis Gras which is meant to be really good.
